Taylor later founded Amaya Films, a production company originally focused on cinematic wedding films. This chapter served not only to build strong working relationships with Ontario-based filmmakers but also as a hands-on training ground for learning every facet of production — from run-and-gun shooting to post-production workflows. Amaya Films became known for its emotionally driven style and high production value, most notably with The Wedding of Niketa & Amar, a two-part Netflix-style docuseries that combined structured story arcs, interviews, and vérité footage to elevate the wedding genre.
In addition to weddings, Taylor has expanded into music video production — producing and filming a visual project for Los Angeles-based artist KANNA, and currently developing a second music video with Toronto artist Mia Bella, now in pre-production.
With a decade and a half of industry experience — including creative development, production management, and brand storytelling — Taylor launched AVM Collective Inc., a next-generation production company dedicated to creating original IP, brand campaigns, and docu-style content that bridges real life with cinematic storytelling. AVM Collective partners with diverse creators and brands to develop content that resonates across platforms and communities.
Taylor continues to lead the company’s creative vision, driving projects that connect emotionally and inspire action, while fostering a collaborative environment for emerging and established talent alike.
Taylor Amaya is a multidisciplinary producer and storyteller with a background in both film and broadcast television. After completing his studies in Film at Fanshawe College and Broadcast Television at Humber College, Taylor began his career at Global’s The Morning Show, where he contributed to the development and pitching of daily segments during his college placement.
While at Humber, Taylor’s creative concepts were uniquely selected multiple times for the college’s annual production slates — a rare recognition that led to his role as Executive Producer on Power Tumbling, a character-driven documentary, and A Thousand Wishes, a narrative pilot. Both were screened in downtown Toronto as part of the college’s annual industry showcase.
Following his formal training, Taylor spent several years traveling internationally to absorb new perspectives and broaden his creative lens. These experiences continue to influence his work and storytelling approach.
